Director
How people live fascinates me. As a director, I tell stories about diverse characters who share their challenges, boundaries, comic moments, losses, and victories accessible in theatre, film, TV, and digital media. I interpret stage action to encourage feelings to bubble up to the surface through gestures, facial expressions, posture, articulation, inflection, and space in exquisite detail. By tuning into a playwright’s intention to reveal the character’s motivation in words and deeds, I encourage actors to persist in their efforts to reach their characters’ goals to engage the audiences across the U.S. and around the world.
As a collaborator with the creative team, I offer a vision informed by research and listen keenly to the discoveries and ideas of designers, the technical director, stage management, and actors. Together, the theatrical company can unite around a common goal to take specific steps to realize objectives as we approach the night of curtain or the day of the shoot.
It is such a joy to direct plays, musicals and operas in dynamic productions. I look forward to collaborating with creative teams to dramatize innovative theatre, film, TV, and digital media.
